Grant Wiscour and the InfidelsGenre: country Location: Dallas, TX Visits: 5887 | Bio/Info: In the fall of 2004, Grant Wiscour started his band, the Infidels, while working as a bouncer at Adair's Saloon in Dallas. He began looking for the right people to join his band that would represent the Hard-Driving Texas Country sound that he was fond of. So, this bouncer turned front-man began assembling his "Infidels” with the spirit of Billy Joe Shaver, Chris Wall, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Johnny Paycheck and of course, Dallas Favorite, the Mo Robson Band. The Infidels are quick to say that the name "Infidel" is not a moniker for "God Hater" or any other agnostic crap. The guys say they just got tired of folks overseas calling Americans, "Infidels" and the name stuck. Just because you raise Hell on stage doesn't mean you don't say your prayers at night. This is, without doubt, a band with Attitude. Just listen to his song "Three Quarter Ton" where he sings..."if you don't like it, you can just go to Hell" or "Turn Up the Juice" (another Wiscour original), where he belts the chorus... "Get you nose out of Nashville's ass, it's time you got to the back of the class, Infidels like me won't be caught dead in Tennessee". Always straight forward and to the point, Wiscour says, "It's not so much that I am anti-NashVille. Well, yeah I am. What I think always end up thinking about is who fired Hank Williams? Nashville and Roy Acuff. Who told Willie Nelson that he couldn't write and record Red-Headed Stranger? NashVille. And who was it that wouldn't let Waylon out of his contract so that he could write and produce his own songs, his way? NashVegas." With what they did to his heroes, he says it is hard for him not to “hate 'em." But that is just Grant Wiscour. A Singer-Songwriter that can quote Jesus, Hubbard and Shaver; maybe in the same song. Remember this folks, your want to have a good time listening to some Texas Country Music catch one of the shows. If you have something to say, these guys are easy to talk to and genuine people. One thing, it should probably be polite, you certainly wouldn't be the first person (or the last) to get punched in the mouth by an Infidel.
